where have i been, who am i....what am i doing here?!!!!!! feel like i have literally been alice in wonderland and fallen down this big rabbit hole we call life!<br> well, i have been dealing with alot lately! lets start from the beginning...went to see sheryl crow at the bbc theatre after winning a competition to be part of a 100 people only audience on the mark radcliffe show.....tim and i were 2nd row from the front and it was awsssoooommme! imagine a theatre in art deco styly with dim lights and two art deco lions on the wall behind the stage. there were mics hanging from many points and a flight box on the left hand side that simply stated 'sheryl crow'. when we first arrived, we were ushered into the theatre to hear sheryl crow on the radio doing an interview, while the band was tuning up in front of us....many cool instruments might i add, including les paul guitar in sunburst and amazing tama star classic drum kit in maple. sheryl had a twelve string and an acoustic AND another guitarist and bassist taboot! the backing singers were two black mamas with funky hair and funky voices. when sheryl came out, i was surprised at just how tiny she is! she is roughly 5 foor one, size 8 and she was wearing simple jeans with boots and hair back in a pony tail. effortlessly beautiful. the one thing that you notice first about her is her smile....IT IS HUGE!!!! and even being surrounded by very tall musicians, she stole the stage with ease. and her voice......WOW every note was perfect and SOOOO loud! she did the classics from all i wanna do is have some fun, right up to her new tracks, including an amazing song called shine over babylon.she smiled at me singing along too!!!!!<br> if you can, listen to it on the bbc website, type in sheryl crow or mark radcliffe and you should find it....awsome!!!!!<br> after the show, we went to garfunkels, got drunk and headed to the hilton!!!! we managed to get a room for 50 quid, even though the rooms are usually hundred and fifty. i wasnt feeling too good by the morning...also have weird lump in my throat that has stopped me from swallowing properly (no jokes please!!!!) seeing doctor tomorrow....bit worried really since my throat is my income! trying to stay positive though!</p> <p>so after the concert it was val day....very sweet hubbie gave me ratatoille on dvd...awwww! and we went to frankie and bennies for slap up meal, tres nice!<br> came home to find my cousin is coming down for two days, that was nice</p> <p>oh! before sheryl...won a tenner on the lottery and 18 quid on random scratch card! wahoo! my philosophy is, that if you win money, you should share it with somone, so bought big issue, gave a quid to 'moldovite' blogger' and saved some and then, bought my friend a book.</p> <p>good deeds done, i then went on to win a camera and be given a free gift bag in boots! karma is a funny thing!</p> <p>other than that, went on a band doo and everything got waaayyyy outa hand....will never drink alcohol with muso's again as we all turn into plonkers!!!!</p> <p>also found out my gran had breast cancer...not good, especially with throat thing....then found out one of my close friends has liver cancer, two big tumours that are too large to remove....she is so calm with it, whilst i have been breaking apart.....im seeing just how fragile life can be....the only certainty in life is death......talk about putting a spin on things. been very philosophical lately, hence the quietness....but we dont talk enough about those things so just thought id start to write again!</p> <p>good news is that my cousin is getting married, as is my friend helen and my other cousin is haveing a baby, due yesterday....she is now eating pineapple to try and get it out!!!! DO IT! i had such a lovely time, just what i needed to inspire my imagination! i did miss you all! shall i tell you about my trip?....ok then! </p> <p>well, tim and i left on wednesday as you probably know and got to paris at 12 in the afternoon. we stayed in the holiday inn near chessy station which is convenientally 5 mins from central paris and 2 mins from eurodisney! tim had bought us tickets to go to the parks, which was great as i used to work for disney and love to feel like a 5 year old on roller coasters! the hotel was beautiful and looked over a lake! not bad for a holiday inn!</p> <p>DAY ONE<br> we decided that we had to do the louvre first as i love art and couldnt wait to see the mona lisa and the giant egyptian artifact collection they have there. i also wanted to imagine myself as a super sleuth from 'the davinci code' novel by dan brown!!!<br> so off we went to the louvre on our first day! if you have never been there before IT IS HUMUNGOUS!!!!!! 3 miles off pure art!!!! leonardo davinci's art is so ahead of its time and the spanish paintings were so vibrant!<br> i was blown away by the amount of egyptian antiques they had....including a real life embalmed mummy! tim and i had gone to luxor last year as i used to study egyptology and absolutely loved it! we made friends with some local guys who ended up giving us a guided tour of all the temples for a third of the price that any of the companys were offering. they spoke very good english and one of them taught egyptology at the local school. we spent the whole holiday with them going to meet their friends down dodgy back streets, smoking sheesha pipes on their falluca and they even caught us fresh fish one evening as we all watched the sunset on their boat. it was all i had imagined it to be, and i fell in love with luxor instantly...i digress!<br> when i saw all of the statues, jewellery and sarcophogus in the louvre, it made me cry at its beauty!<br> we spent a whole day there, but we could have easily spent another. in the evening, we went into notre dame and watched a christening take place. the beautiful gregorian choir sang to the roof tops, it really was divine. i am not a religous person, but there is something to be said for the amazing energy of that place. you feel that angels are going to decend from the walls and swoop down infront of you. it is the closest i have ever got to a heavenly experience.<br> we walked back along the seine and looked oput over the eiffel tower, which was completely lit up from top to bottom in fairy lights!<br> we eventually got back to the hotel, and slept like logs!</p> <p>DAY TWO<br> we woke up nice and early and decided that today, we would go to the sacre coeur! so off we went and climbed up the hill to the very top and looked out over the whole of paris. remeniscent of a scene from the moulin rouge, we could see everything from the louvre to the l'arc de triomphe....spectacular!<br> we walked through the artisan court yard which had loads of local painters working away on local scenes. the were many artists hustling to draw the tourists! luckily, i can speak french relatively well as my family originate from france and spain so i had fun taunting them and making them laugh!<br> we ended up in this beautiful little piano bar which has tourist memorobilia all over the walls! literally! there were photos of couples, people had written letters and stuck them up, there were different kinds of money, peoples old train tickets, envelopes and messages that people had written on old receipts and the like stuck everywhere, from the walls to the ceiling!!! so naturally, tim and i added a message! we drank chocolat chaud and felt all snuggly and warm....ah bien!<br> we made our way back to the hotel, and slept like logs!</p> <p>DAY THREE<br> well, we decided to go and see le place de concorde, l'arc de triomphe, moulin rouge and the main town before tomorrow, wghere we hit the parks. so off we went! we went through the beautiful park from the louvre to place de concorde and joined the hum drum of people looking for chanel and cartier boutiques. i couldnt believe how much people pay for this stuff....c'est tres ridiculous!!!!!<br> anyway, it was fun to see the people that shop there with their fur coats and big sunnies and even bigger coiffered hair!<br> we had lunch and got a bit bored so went back to the hotel, had dinner and used the gym (yes, im still losing weight!) and, you've guessed it...slept like logs.</p> <p>DAY FOUR<br> disney land! people that turn their nose up at walt's creations dont know what they're missing!the amount of work that goes into every detail of the buildings right down to the staffs uniforms is quite spectacular. the parades are beautiful and the stage shows are as good as going to the theatre, especially the lion king. everything is clean and each building and ride has its own character. it truly is magical there!<br> i love roller coasters so you could imagine my happiness when we found that there was no more than ten minute waits for every single ride!! obviously, this time of year is fab as it is cold and wet and the kids have gone back to school so tim and i had a field day. we managed to go on the tower of terror 8 times, crush's roller coaster 4 times, space mountain 4 times, indiana jones 3 times and the run away train 5 times! we saw all the shows and watched all the stunt spectaculars and all the parades! it was really good fun, and we managed to get our photo taken with every character. it made me miss working for disney as it truly was one of the best jobs i ever had. i used to be snow white, esmerelda and pocahontas for the kids and it was great fun! ill have to upload some photos of me in the good old days for you all to laugh at!<br> when we had finished with the day, we ate in the rainforest cafe which is set out like a jungle with parrots, gorillas and elephants poking out of the walls. they are all animatronic and move around and make noises..very entertaining! every so often there is a thunder storm with flashing lights and all the animals go wild! if you have never been, it's a real laugh!<br> at the end of the day, we trundled back to the hotel.....and slept like logs!</p> <p>DAY FIVE<br> well, it was our last day, and out 2 year wedding aniversary! we had another day in the parks, riding our hearts out, buying silly hats and disney books in french!<br> we went to planet hollywood for dinner and got a leeetle bit drunk!!!<br> after stumbling back to the hotel, we didnt sleep like logs, but had a lovely romantic night full of paris fever! im not one to kiss and tell, BUT IT WAS FUN!!!!!</p> <p>DAY SIX<br> back home....boooo! back to the real world of non decisions and washing up. i had a fantastic time and tim and i are now more in love than ever.</p> <p>i truly am the luckiest girl in the world! romantic men out there, keep up the good work! you are handsome, giving and a credit to the men of the world! jack the lads take note from your fellow knights in shining armour! you may be having fun but there is so much beauty in committing to one person. you get to share your whole world with them, you learn to love them in new ways everytime you grow, and you are never left wanting more, because what you have fills you to the brim with a happiness and love that the angels will lie down and be still for.<br> if you havent found that person yet, keep looking and if you have, be proud to love them and tell the world about it....we all need a little hope in happily ever after!</p> <p>a bientot!
